Research

This is a guide on how to research, brainstorm, collect information and to create a manual for your own project.

Research
Every project starts with an extensive research and collecting information

Hey friends :)

Every project starts with collecting information and thinking about everything. Yes, it can get overwhelming. A research becomes a reality check. Your idea just became real and you realize it is going to take way more effort and work to make it happen than expected. But this should empower: A research is basically the very first step you take in a journey and there are many ways to do it.

Let me present you my scheme of doing research. I use these steps for every project I start:

The steps are divided into two parts: 1) internal knowledge (everything you know right now) and 2) external knowledge (new information). I start with the internal research and then combine my knowledge with all the new learnings from the external one. See what it means in example:

The first step and also the easiest is to brainstorm. You just write down everything you think about your project. Every association you note down. Even the craziest thing can be written down. Don't think about structure or order. A brainstorm is just to get all the things you concern out of your head. Every idea must be written down.

After that I research on the web. This means I read as many articles or watch as many YouTube videos as possible to extend my knowledge. I use another sheet of paper and write down all the new information. Compared to a brainstorm which is focused on what you know- and a web-research is external knowledge and focused on new things.

Now I have my own notes and the ones from external source. The next step is to bring all the information in order and get it structured. On another sheet of paper we will now make our first draft. From how to get started to how to make it happen we include all points and give them an order.

Internal + External, add some structure, define time and you have your own manual
Create a manual for your project
The brainstorm and the web-research is now our whole information set and the combination of both with a chronological structure results in our own guide for our project.

The next step includes time: Because our guide basically is just a collection of goals which have to be realized. And adding time to each goal makes the plan complete.

This is a simple way of doing research and making a plan of all important steps which have to get done in order to realize your project. The longer the plan is the more steps you have for your goal / project the more sense it could make to built in chapters or levels. You can also say milestones. It means you divide the whole plan into small parts.

This is a clear and straight forward way to do research and get started with a project. I hope you can learn something from this theoretical method and use it for your next move.

Enjoy life and bless up!
